Scraproom reorganized

A friend of mine has been asking to see photos of the scraproom.

This is what my scraproom used to look like. It felt awful, like it was all going to come tumbling down on my head. In fact the shelf over the desk has quite a bow to it. Scary, RIGHT.

So I worked on it a lot. I still don't have the room painted, but I really like the scrapbook organizing.

So here is how it looks now. I got rid of the larger table and put in a small 4 foot one. It really helps not to have the space to pile stuff.

This is the window seat. The shelves were in my dd's room and she broke two of the drawers so that is what is holding all the albums. The other two drawers hold all my craft supplies for daycare and my kids extra school supplies. The cases on top are CTMH acrylic stamps. Then my label maker and laminator fit on top of labeled drawers that hold all my embellishments, rub ons, stickers, and tags. the crop in style bag fit nicely in front of them.

This is the shelving next to the table. These are cubes from Fred Meyer and Iris carts. The bottom holds albums, the middle holds paper holders. All my paper is sorted by manufacture, so I can easily find a line that works and all the colors match. The top is floss boxes labeled and sorted by color, and they hold all my ribbon and fibers. Everyone needs a pile it area and that is what the other two shelves are for. Above that is a ink pad holder that my dad built for me. The black and white basket holds new purchases, until I can get them put away. I haven't been buying much lately so it is a bit lonely. The Iris carts hold wooden stamps, foam stamps, photos, office supplies, and embossing and card making supplies, and pens and markers. I downsized a lot when I organized and I sold over 50 sets of stamps on eBay. I also sold a bunch of paper and punches and misc. at a garage sale and on cragislist.

This is the wall by the door. The cart is by cropper hopper and it holds a ton of paper and stickers. Only don't try and move it when it is full. YOU WILL HURT YOURSELF. Above the cart is a shelf I found for a $ at goodwill. It holds all the little embellishment flowers.

Here is my desk, all nice and clean. I love the back mat because I am very picky about having stuff straight. the little X adhesive is great for small stuff and my bucket turns on a lazy Susan and holds all my tools. I plan on hanging the magnetic white board, but not until I paint the room. It is on the list of rooms left to paint.

OCtober Kits are done YEAH!

I hope you like this kit. I love fall and all the colors of it. I'm not really a fan of the colder weather, but the rest of it is cool.

I got my Frames and my wall looks great

So for my birthday last weekend my family bought me the frames I wanted from Costco. I love them. I immediately changed the photos out and put them on the wall. The quote above it say
Diamonds are precious but daughters are priceless. My sister in law gave me that for Christmas last year. It was in a white frame, but a little time and paint and I just love the way it looks. One wall down many more to complete.

As if someone knew I needed to redecorate a new store just popped up in Meridian. Import Outlet and it has great prices. I stopped in really quick, left my kids in the car for a sec and checked it out. I plan on going back when I have more time. If your interested it is on Fairview in a new strip mall just west of Eagle rd and before the sonic.LOL They have a clock I just love and I will probably ask for it for my anniversary. I'll show you that wall when it is done also.

As far as the triangle paint issue, I decided to use the corn for it. Now I just need to get the money to buy more paint. LOL

HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO!!!!!

So the past few months I have been painting. The girls room and the bathroom and the hall at that in of the house are done. They were easy, start and stop walls. Now I am to the living room and the vaulted ceilings and the rounded corners. Where do I start one color and end another?

So here is the living room wall with the arch, I painted the arch with the Carmel and the golden corn will be on the kitchen side of this wall. Yes, I was hungry when I picked out the colors, Carmel, Chocolate, Corn and Butterscotch.

This whole room was based on the photo on the wall. That is Heidi and Emma in California. I took it (amazing huh) then we had it blown up to 26 x 30 at Costco and I modge podged it to a canvas. I love it, and I love that it cost me less than $40 to make.

Here is the wall when you walk in the front door. I plan on replacing the girls photos with new frames in the dark cherry wood, just have to wait until I can afford the frames. I also would like to make them even and put a quote above them. I don't know what the spot on the camera was ?

Now is where I run into problems. This is the wall at the end of the hall. I got it painted this morning. (Don't ask how I did the upper part with only a 6 foot ladder). So the big white wall is part of the kitchen also and I plan on painting it Golden Corn like the rest of the kitchen. The ceiling is going to stay white. But see the little triangle of ceiling just before the master bedroom. Should it be white like the rest of the ceiling? Should it be Carmel like the hall or should it be Corn like the kitchen?

Here is a better shot of the triangle problem area. Any suggestions or help with this would be great. The sooner the better, I plan to finish the hall and the entryway this week.

When it rains...it pours!

Well I tried to have a yard sale, but I guess God doesn't want me to pay my bills. So after one lone sale, in a downpour, while trying to get everything out of the rain...Gwennie and I decided to head out and see if anyone else was selling. A few had clean enough garages to hold theirs inside and Gwennie even found some cute clothes for her dd. Then it was off to Moxie Java for Hot Chocolate. We were freezing a bit...wet clothes tend to do that, and we will admit it...we weren't ready to go back to our homes and be moms yet.

So now the next best thing...Craiglist and postpone the sale a week. We have to pay our bills somehow. LOL

More Finished Layouts

Here are a few more layouts that I was able to finish this week. The stack on my desk is slowly getting smaller and the albums are getting bigger.


The first one is Emma's preschool field trip to the zoo. The kids all love the slide. I think I got a shot of each kid in her class.

The 2nd one is dyeing Easter eggs and I entitled it Just for Fun, because no one actually likes eggs here and we just dye them for fun and then throw them away the next day.

The next layout is Heidi's birthday photos, we took them at Katherine Albertson Park on June 2nd. They turned out great.

The last one is the few photos I got on Heidi's birthday as they played with her gift...ROCK BAND.

First week of School

We made it through the first week of school YEAH!!!!!

I got up and took Heidi to the high school. I got out of there for $92 , very cheep.LOL
She found her friends, got in line for her schedule and I left her at high school. A little nervous that she was in high school and a little nervous about her ankle. She did fine.

Then I went home and got Emma and Greg and I took her to school. KINDERGARTEN. She had friends in her class and was so excited. They lined up and waved goodbye to the parents. Then they were gone.

Most moms and dads would be sad at this point. NOT ME Three hours really isn't that long. I got to go to Costco (by myself). Then it was time to pick her up. I went and helped her find the right bus, then followed the bus home.

Emma's biggest complaint for the first day was that her teacher didn't call her Emma. So I had to explain to Mrs.L that her real name is Emelia but she is called Emma. Mrs. L said she would try and remember and maybe Emma could reminder her.

Emma says "Don't worry I'll remind you everytime"

The rest of the week went fairly smooth. I did have to take Heidi back in and have her schedule rearranged, but nothing to major.

So now we have a four day weekend and then back to school. I can't wait for Tuesday, I have plans for those three blessed hours. Finish painting, clean and organize my house, and maybe enjoy a bubble bath without interuption.

Heidi's next steps

This weekend we went to Portland for a dr. appt. That by the way is a long drive for a Dr. appointment, but it was worth it. We found a dr. that is going to fix Heidi's leg. This surgery will give her a 75% chance of recovery and the ablilty to walk without pain for years to come. The Dr. wants to do this ASAP, so monday morning we are going to call and schedule her surgery. She will be in the hospital for about a week, and then have two or three follow up appointments. The whole procedure will take about three months. So here is a link to what the operation is:

the dr. will also go in and reconstruct her ankle, by taking a slice out of her heel bone and using it to rebuild her ankle and straighten her ankle which is at a 2% tilt the wrong way.

While in Portland we did have some fun at OMSI where we saw a show at the Planetarium and then took a tour of a US subamarine. Not good when you are claustraphobic.

Then we hit Ikea!!!

I could live in that store. It was so much fun looking at the great showrooms and all the stuff. We did make it home with a few new items, one of which is a "Dave" a laptop desk. It was really fun and other than the really long drive it wasn't too bad. I'll keep you updated on when Heidi will have surgery again. Hopefully this will be the last surgeries for a number of years.

Until then I can't wait for school to start on Monday, I will have three hours of peace and quiet. Yeah

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

I took the time this weekend to watch his last lecture and I learned a great deal from it. I also ordered his book to get more of the information behind his lecture. It truly is wonderful and I encourage everyone to take an hour and listen to this man. Think back on your childhood dreams and see if you are any closer to achieving them and if you are... are you helping others to achieve their dreams?
