The Story of a Laundry Room

This is the story of a laundry room.


Once upon a time there was a sad little laundry room that was very dirty...








And very cluttered and not organized at all and very crowded. The laundry room was sad.


It had dreams of being a big beautiful laundry room, just like the one in the magazines.
Well one day the owners made the laundry room's dream come true. It took a lot of hard work and the washer and dryer were removed from the room along with every thing else.

The laundry room had been afraid of fire, because of all the flamable lint. After a professional came and unclogged the dryer vent, and all the old lint and dirt was removed the laundry room took a big deep breath. It was so much easier to inhale deeply and the clean air was so refreshing. This made the room happier and safer.

The laundry room was then painted, but not the color it wanted. The room was scared and felt angry with the new color. Oh how he wished he had some sun glasses, because the color was sooo bright...

The owner didn't like the color either and felt sorry for the laundry room, and so new paint was purchased and as the laundry room changed colors again it took on a peaceful happy feeling and it began to smile.



Well the laundry room was looking better and feeling better and the owner added shelves. Nice, white, sturdy shelves to hold and organize things. They added baskets and labels and before long the little laundry room's dream came true and it looked just like the rooms in the magazines. The laundry room was HAPPY and it SMILED and was EXCITED to do it's job.

Tip: Leave an open Scentsy on your dryer and it will make the room smell wonderful, but not to over powering.

The wire shelf gave the laundry room a place to keep everyday cleaners and soaps, so they owner had more room in the kitchen pantry for food. The broom rack kept everything off the floor and in it's place.
The baskets were labeled for things like the lost and found and cleaners. This made the laundry room feel important to have labels.

help i'm broken

I happened to walk to closely by the sofa...I caught my knee on the corner and it pulled my kneecap out of place. dr. term is dislocated patella. the paramedics came and put it back in place. that is when i realized my arm also hurt from the fall... so off to the ER i went. the knee should be fine in a few days and with some physical therapy, the arm is a fractured radius. it will take a few weeks to heal. until then i can't do much, including typing. it has taken me 20 minutes to type this one handed. until later...

I got a little behind

I still have been scrapping and cleaning, but I haven't been blogging. This is harder than I thought to post everyday. I have also been doing pretty good on the whole eating better and exercise thing.

Well here are the last few days scrapbooking pages. It is coming along nicely. I can't wait to be all caught up on layouts, that were half done. I don't have photos of the kids room which is what we have been cleaning and organizing. Have a great weekend, I hope to scrapbook most of the weekend, so check back on Monday for new layouts.

Dang I missed Sunday

I missed Sunday because I was so tired I fell asleep to fast. I didn't scrapbook a layout on Sunday, but I did 3 on Saturday so I'm still good. I cleaned up my treadmill and got it dusted off and ready to use. The shelf above the treadmill was full of car stuff and boring to look at. So I made it pretty.

I also got Emma's desk into her room. We didn't have to buy one, because Heidi was ready to get rid of the one in her room. Here is how it turned out.

She really like having a place to color, play school and do homework. The carousel is from pampered chef, I found it at a 2nd hand store for $1 and used it to hold all the markers and crayons.

Today's Layouts

Yes that is plural I got more than one done today, but i didn't do any cleaning. the journaling is little notes for each of my family members in the envelope.

The march layout is pretty simple and fun to put together. Only making the lion and the lamb were hard.

Here is the April layout. I had fun doing calendar pages today, and hopefully I will get more done tomorrow.

today's projects

so today I decided to work on the hall colset. This is a closet you don't open unless you want something to fall on your head.

I decided the vaccuum needed a new home in the laundry room or master closet. The storage shoe thing, is so old it doesn't hold it's shape so everything falls out of it.

I took everything out of there, and then I pulled a different shelving unit out of my daughters room. She wasn't using it anyway.

Now I have a basket for all the vaccuum attachments that were everywhere. I also have a basket for all the extra daycare clothes and diapers. Then I have my diapers and wipes and changing pad shelf. The extra folding chairs fit in here and so did the family kites, and the baby toys. And nothing falls on your head.

Okay on to the layout of the day for today. It is my calendar kit from last year. Yes it has taken me a year to get the photos and journaling on the page.

New Years Resolution

I have decided to do things a bit different this year. My "to do list" is going to be different. I have told myself that each day I will make a list. "If I accomplish only one thing each day it will be ..." Today's thing, was to clean the pantry. Here is what my pantry looks like. I forgot the before shot.

I also decided to do a layout a day for the month of January. These are not all new layouts, just ones that were not finished. They need to be journaled or a title or something. Here is today's layout.

This is my cute little nephew. I love these photos of him. Unfortunately my camera flashed on the middle photo. I have also decided to try and use up my stash so I didn't buy anything for this layout. This paper is about 5 years old, but it worked so great for these photos.

Hell Froze over!!! "well not quite"

I spent this morning taking down the tree and the Christmas decorations. I usually leave them up until New Years Day, but this year I have had my living room torn apart for months with the painting. I just wanted it done and clean. It looks awesome now. All the Christmas is packed away and back in the shed.

Then this afternoon, Greg came in and said his car was running (it hasn't moved in almost 4 years) and he was moving it out of the garage so I can park the van inside.

HELL HAS FROZEN OVER....... I knew that the day I could park in the garage would be when hell froze over.

Well my van is still in the driveway... so hell is just cold not frozen. We spent the afternoon working on getting the garage cleaned out so we can park more than one car in it. I finally have the go ahead from Greg to toss stuff. Throw out the junk!!!! Yahoo.

So I started cleaning out boxes. I found one box that was old magazines, I don't need Car and Driver's from before I could Drive. Then I found another box of old Childcraft books from when I was little. Emma loved looking at them, but they are so old and moldy and they stink really bad, so they will be going bye bye.

Then I came acrossed a box packed by a "Beers person". Talk about incomprehensible pack rat-ish behavior. The box had an old High school Annual and a bunch of papers so I figured I better go through it. The annual along with another one in the box belong to my brother in law. Then I found an old pair of slippers and a pair of pants, and a cookbook holder. Remember !!! this is all in the same box. Then I found Greg's birth certificate, the original stamped one. I also found his permit from driving in other countries and his passport information from 20 years ago. Good thing I didn't just throw the box away. What else was in the box you ask?

a string of bells (that hang on a camels neck apparently)

an old slinky, that was very rusty
a broken dice
two packages of flower pot fertilizer sticks
birthday cards
old paperbacks
and old love letters.

My thinking can't understand how a box was packed like this. My stuff is packed, books with books, kitchen stuff with kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff with bathroom stuff. Heidi, on the other hand loved unpacking this box, because it was kind of like a treasure hunt. If it is treasure hunting she wants, grandma has a whole garage full of boxes like this one. LOL

We got about a fourth of the garage cleaned out, but not enough to get the van in there, so tonight the supra is back in the garage and so is the motorcycle, but not the van.

Someday . . .

Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone.


We celebrated a nice relaxing Christmas this year at home. Emma woke up way to early, at 4:30 a.m. We sent her back to bed. About 7:30 we finally allowed her to get up and open presents.

Here she is with her big huge grin over her new harps a chord toy her dad gave her. She also got a Barbie.

For Christmas my mom made me a new duvet cover for our bed. It turned out beautiful. Here is a better photo of it.
I just love it. Along with this I got a new wall clock and battery heated socks. I also got a few new snowmen for my collection and two more seasons of Friends on DVD.

Greg got all the Star Trek movies, and a book.

Heidi's foot hurt so she was a bit grumpy on Christmas, but she loved what she got. New makeup, jewelry, and a laptop and new cell phone. Here is a shot of her with the lappy.

Overall it was a really nice day with lots of relaxing. Yesterday we just sat around and watched Friends. 9 hours of Friends and counting.

Emma's Birthday

I haven't had a chance before now to post about Emma's birthday. I guess I better do it. It is hard to believe my baby is six years old.

She really had three different birthday parties this year. One with family, one at school, and one with friends. Nothing like dragging your birthday out all week long. LOL Her family party was at home the night before her birthday, we wanted to celebrate while her dad was in town. She had cake and ice cream and grandma and grandpa came over. The next day she took cupcakes to school and shared her birthday with all her classmates. That night Heidi and I took her to see Bolt at the movie theater. VERY GOOD MOVIE by the way.

For her friend birthday party, which my kids only get every other year, she chose PoJo's Family Fun Center in Boise. She was able to invite 5 friends to join her. The night of her birthday party, the place was packed. I spent the whole time trying to keep track of kids, so they wouldn't get lost. It really helped to only give them two tokens at a time, then they had to come find me to play more games. Here are a few of the gifts she received at her party. Sadly, we forgot to take a group shot, with all the kids.
