What an Afternoon

Which part was the joy of my day?

puking
loosing a kid in Costco
or getting a flat tire

So I woke up sick again this morning (that makes over a week of it) so dh being the nice guy that his insisted on teasing me about being pregnant. Yeah Right that is just what I need right now. I finally took a test to rule that out. NEGATIVE is a lovely sight, when you have a five year old screaming and kicking your bathroom door and demanding that you go to the store because "we are out of waffles" I bought 14 boxes of cold cereal two weeks ago when it was on sale. EAT THAT.

So I finally got up and dressed and headed out for the day. There are some days you should just stay at home in the comfort of your bed, wrapped in your woobie with your faithful teddy bear. Today was one of those days.

I stopped by the scrapbook store to pick up my friends cards. My 13 year old with attitude informed me that this was the fifth time this week that I had been there. PUT YOUR EAR PLUGS IN, LISTEN TO YOUR IPOD AND KEEP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF. We went to my friends house and dropped off the cards and she cut my girls hair while I played with her baby. (the highlight of my day) That baby is such a sweetie.

I left there and went and bought meat. LOTS OF MEAT. We decided that some of our tax return needed to go to food supplies, so I bought 30 pounds of beef (various steaks, roast and such) for $100. It should be enough to fill the freezer and last for awhile.

We went to lunch and then to Costco, where I instantly hit the restroom and lost my lunch. FUN NOT Well Emma went into the restroom with me but decided that she didn't want to stay. So while I am bowing to the toilet my five year old left the bathroom and started wandering Costco alone. Not much that I could do about it as I was stuck in the stall.

We finally found her snacking down on samples in the back of the store. After getting our food supplies we checked out with a kicking, screaming and yelling kid demanding an ice cream cone. NOT IN THIS LIFE, HONEY.

On the way home from Costco, I was driving an heard a horrid noise. Pulling over as quick as possible we came to discover a bungee cord stuck in the front tire. It was the same color as the roadway, which is probably why I never saw it. The hook is in the tire and the rubber strap was flapping against the wheel well. Greg just cut the strap off and we drove home, only to discover the tire store is closed until Monday.

I came home and put on jammies and crawled back in bed where I should have stayed to begin with. Some days it just doesn't pay to get up in the morning.

Tumbling Tumble Weeds

You know that you haven't posted lately on your blog, when you have tumble weeds blowing around on your blog. I was checking out my friends blogs and all the other ones i like to read (just because I am nosey) and most of them didn't have any updates. Then it dawned on me that mine hasn't been updated in quite awhile either.

I have been waiting to upload photos from our trip to Washington, so give me a day and I will amaze you with blog updates.

I'm a Princess

You Are Snow White!

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

April Calendar Kit

Here is the April Calendar kit. The photo is kind of crooked. LOL Because my computer died it took me awhile to finish this one, but I love how it turned out. It has some very cute flowers and the title that I cut out using my silhouette. This kit would look even better with glitter glue or stickles on the flowers or something like that, only I can't afford to put that in every kit.

The egg hunt at Albertsons

This is the layout I did of the Easter Egg hunt at Albertsons. Emma had a great time at the hunt and I had a great time making the layout.

Heidi and Her Dad

Heidi and Greg have a normal teenage/parent relationship, she usually thinks he is lame and he usually thinks she is moody. Here is a layout I made to remind them both that they have a great time together sometimes. These were photos taken on our North Pole Express train ride. I love both of their smiles.

Here is the Emil layout I was working on while Emma worked on hers. All the little photos were an 8x10 collage they gave us for Christmas, and I just cut it up and added it to the page. He really is a cute little guy and I can't wait to meet him in person.

My Little scrapper

Emma wanted to scrapbook with me so I gave her some photos of her cousin Emil. She had to do everything just like so. Then she even asked for a title and for buttons to add to the page. I think her first two page layout turned out very cute.

An Unusual Find

This week was just dragging by like the many weeks before it have. Each day pretty much the same as the day before. Wednesday the weather was nice and sunny. I dropped Heidi off at Physical Therapy and drove back north to pick up Emma. I got her from preschool and we went and got Heidi. This is becoming so routine that I almost don't even pay attention to driving the route.

So we were leaving PT and Heidi asked me to turn right instead of left just to see what was in that direction. Apparently she is just as bored as I was. So we went for a drive, at each intersection I asked the girls left or right. We ended up on a highway heading south of Nampa. I had never really been that way before, but it was still paved and considered highway. After driving for awhile we can to the Snake river and a very lovely bridge. Just east of the bridge was a turnout to a museum and historical site of some old ferry crossing.

"go there mom Please" I guess at some point in time Heidi had driven this road with grandpa and the museum looked pretty cool, but was closed the time they came. So we stopped and got out and looked around. I don't know the name of this place but it was very cool.

There is a walking trail that takes you through the trees. There are quotes and scriptures and statues and quiet benches for meditation and prayer. There is a big rainbow on the hill, and in the mountain is a replica of Christ tomb. Very interesting to say the least. We walked quite a ways, until Heidi's ankle started to hurt. Then we walked back. There are a lot of old building and in pens there were roosters and chickens and peacocks and swans. They have the most beautiful white peacock and he spread his tail and it looked like a wonderful snowflake. The girls loved it.

It made a great day trip idea and cured our boredom.

dragging on

well Spring break has come and gone, and we didn't notice. Why?
Because Heidi is doing virtual school and didn't get a break. and because of the cold and snow flurries and rain, and thunder and hail, not really very spring like if you ask me.

Sunday was Easter and we were pretty lazy. I took Emma to the annual Albertsons Egg hunt down the road on Saturday and she got plenty of candy there. So then Saturday night the Easter bunny left them small baskets with chocolate bunnies and jelly beans. The bunny also left Emma two Dr. Seuss book, one of which was Horton Hears A Who. So Sunday morning Emma opens her bunny, bites off his ears and then decided to take him back to bed with her and cuddle him. Chocolate bunnies and warm flannel bedding don't mix.

MESSY MESSY MESSY

Wednesday Heidi had surgery AGAIN (#14) this time they took all the metal out of her foot. She had one pin and a metal plate and two screws and an anchor thingy. They took all of this out, put it in a plastic bag and sent it home with her. She says she is going to make a necklace out of it. She came home and rested after the surgery.

Friday she broke out in a rash and hives from her meds, so she spent most of the weekend on benadryl and tried not to scratch. This week she is doing great. She starts back to physical therapy tomorrow. Her stiches will come out the end of next week. Hopefully she can finally heal up from this wound and start to recover.

I spent Friday night out with friends scrapping and if I get a chance I will upload photos of the layouts I did.
